The organisation: The web page “I know this great little place in London” was started in 2010 to find and share amazing places across London. This led to demand from other cities, and local administrator and social media adviser Sarah Brownrigg of NB Group Marketing Communications Agency volunteered to manage www.facebook.com/greatlittleplacenewcastle - the site now has 16,000 likes.
What Sarah says: “Featuring on the page is a free source of honest publicity for all the great little, and often hidden, businesses in Newcastle. It maximises the benefits of word of mouth in the social space. How many times have you visited a great place because of a friend’s recommendation?”
Sarah’s advice to businesses: “Building an online community is imperative in the digital age.
